  1. Yes we got one too !! Today I added it to the pile in the spike 45 letters so far since 2010 but to be fair Powell's are only number 39 - 45. Have written to them about this account being in dispute regarding PPI , default and late charges fees . They have chosen to ignore and ignore this factor so that's my stance too.
  2. Do not let him in to your home !! Ring the council office as others have advised . I made a formal complaint to the council about Bristow and Suter their tactics are dire. Being under the vulnerable category my relative was persuaded to allow them in and they then promptly handed him demand 70.00 pound charge for calling on top of the amount owed. In any even he did not owe anything as being on a low income and was unable to claim housing benefit due to mental health issues. The council involved wrote ti him and allowed to pay at a rate he could afford but he still had to pay the charge to the bailiff ! I wish you good luck
  3. Has anyone been told by Welcome that they have no PPI ? They told ny partner verbally when he tried to claim due to being unable to work due to sickness and they also wrote and said no you have no PPI. They lied !! Today after funding the agreement copy we have it has 2200 PPI on his loan. it was a shock that they blatantly lied !! So now next step ? What do we do.?

  5. Personally I have it cancelled NEVER give a debit card number to a DCA. Golden rule number one in my book as advised pay be standing order . Claiming a card has been stolen other than if has been may lead to to loosing all protection if such an occurance actual occurs
  6. The calls to my mobile and land line have intensified over the last couple of days. Not heard from these awful people for several months since I sent them my statute barred letter, here we go again !!
  7. They will probably write to confirm your request will be dealt with in 40 days . Should they not write I would advise a follow up either ringing or writing. They received both myself and partners same day recorded delivery did not contact me this was early November my partner has some data only back 6 years though. On Christmas Eve I had a letter from them saying my signature in the original request does not match the recognised signature on record. This is utter rubbish as they are dealing with a PPI matter and this has not been an issue. They probably are stalling fir whatever reason maybe not repaying me enough ? Every case is different they may be efficient for once and deal more promptly just thought a bit of insight is useful.
  8. If you are disputing the claim and as it is in dispute ref PPI you send to the court your defence and admission form. Should you decide to send the admission form then that would be sent to the solicitor along with payment offer. Now in your case you have agreed a payment and they are ignoring this for some reason . It is for you to decide but I would deal only with the court if it was me. They will see that you have made an effort and probably suspend any action. If you could possibly identify that these people have sent you an authentic claim the forms from the court are numbered and should come in a pack with details in how to respond. Should it just be a computer generated claim that the solicitor has sent which I doubt because of the time line. it seems to be the required procedure. I hope someone will help in this case as I like you have only had to deal with this once before but also other related issues followed .

  10. Hope I am posting correctly but your question about PPI on this debt has prompted me to an eureka moment.!! These DCA have bought debts that they hope to capitalise on yet what about this situation regarding claim back on PPI and other charges how does this affect them regarding the total payable figures that they quote on their paperwork. I know you can dispute this but I am not clear as to the end result how does the debt get recalculated after refund ? Am I just being dimwitted or missing something here ?
  11. Both myself and Partner have submitted SAR to Nat west regarding our current accounts . My partner has received confirmation of his request but I have heard nothing yet but as there is a complication regarding a ppi with RBS being uphed on a past loan I had, it could possibly be the answer? Yesterday my partner had rather an odd letter from Nat West regular payments team at Chatham claiming his request for direct debits be cancelled for two transactions can not be actioned until he contacts them by phone. The mystery is that why should he ring especially as both these accounts were closed years !! ago and are no longer relevant and the fact is that we have no dealings with Nat West now that they foreclosed on these accounts eighteen months ago and we now bank elsewhere . Nat West is so incompetent and I am not surprised they are one of the top banks with high level of complaints I am not confident that the request for SAR will be dealt with in a straightforward manner by them but I will plod on regardless.
