  1. I have been looking at loans online and loanfinder and creditxtra came up, I don't actually remember giving my bank details but I must have because I checked my bank this morning and there were 2 direct debits set up, one for loanfinder and one for creditxtra. I have had no warning about this and have of course cancelled the direct debits, as it stands I don't think I've lost any money to these people, but I've got some pending payments going out on my card and I don't know what they are until they go out, I'm hoping that they're the payments I've authorised and not one to these jokers. Be warned folks, these guys are well dodgy....
  2. He just said to admit the truth and let the magistrates deal with me, which I did, he didn't pay too much attention to anything between me actually committing the crime and the actual arrest. When I asked the police why it taken so long to arrest me, they muttered something about the initial officer being off sick and there was some issues about getting the paperwork together from the employer. I admit I was stupid and committed a crime but I've been punished and want to move on. These people are relentless though. I'm sort of hoping they will take me to court cos maybe that way they'll leave me alone, as I say it is on record that I was ordered to pay back the money once only. The magistrate actually said the employer couldn't have it both ways. Thanks for listening....
  3. In July 2008 I did a very stupid thing and stole money from my employer totalling £308.76. I was caught and sacked and at that point there was no police involvement. I started to receive letters from RLP demanding £608.76. I argued with them that the £300 extra was too much and I would not pay. On December 18th 2008, with no warning, I received an early morning visit from 2 police officers who arrested me and took me in for questioning. I spent a day in a police cell with no food and one cup of coffee. They eventually let me go with a date for court. In January 2009, after several visits to court I was given 200 hours community service and ordered to pay £308.76 and £60 costs. The hours have been served, the money paid back and I have learned a serious and valuable lesson. Whilst at court my solicitor mentioned the letters from RLP and magistrate ruled that I only need to pay the money back once, and would be via the court. Fair enough. It is now January 2010 and I am still receiving letters from RLP threatening recovery action, I have sent then copies of my court documents, I have told them to speak to the solicitor who dealt with it, but still they keep harassing me. I am not going to pay them any money, and I have since moved to another area so am not in contact with my then solicitor. What is my best course of action? Many thanks.

    mbna fraud dept

Hi folks, can anyone advise me on a problem my husband and I have with the mbna fraud dept? They texted my husband to say that there was a possible fraudulent transaction on his card, they also confirmed this in writing. The card has a "temporary referral status" on it now and can't be used until my husband speaks to them. My husband cannot talk on the phone at this point because he is recovering from an operation on his throat. So he has written to mbna twice now explaining the situation and has asked that any communication be in writing or I can speak on his behalf. Thus far we have had one letter back, asking him to phone them!!! They have also tried to phone him, but it's been whilst he's been home alone and unable to answer the phone! Any suggestions much appreciated. I'll just add that my husband looks after his account online and there was one transaction declined by mbna which was a genuine transaction made by my husband on the day they suspended the account, so we think that's the transaction they are referring to. Thanks.
  6. I recently worked for a large chain of shops and was dismissed for return fraud, i.e. putting returned items through the till fraudulently. I made a mistake and have lost my job, but there is no cctv footage of me taking any money. I have received a letter from Retail Loss Prevention (Civil Debt Recovery)asking for the money back plus extra for their time.. otherwise I will go to court. Has anyone heard of this company? Can anyone suggest what I should do?
  7. I have received a little yellow card today (Thursday) saying they will call on Wednesday, it doesn't say which Wednesday and it doesn't say whether it will be by phone or in person. Has anyone ever received a visit from these people?
