  1. Hi, Welcome to the forum. Lefty would definately be the one to ask. Where is Lefty anyway?
  2. She had the optional cover and the rest of the cr*p they offer and BH wouldn't freeze her account thanks to the useless and more so talentless account manager of the store. P.S I'd love to know what the training consists of to become an employee of BH, so please, if there are any talented staff on the forum here, please educate me on the following: 1) Why have yellow money? 2) Why is it called yellow money? Why not pink for girls and blue for boys? 3) Brighthouse are more interested in a persons talent rather than qualifications. What talent does this consist of? a) Juggling (accounts) b) Illusions ( making Televisions dissapear) c) Quick Change Acts. ( High turn over of staff) d) Singing. ( You Can Ring My Bell - yeah, 50 times a day) Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  3. From what I can gather, the lady had been up against it financially and offered a lesser payment until her finances improved. Like many others she had gone in to the store and made a payment offer although it wasn't the full amount. In general it's pretty much what some of us have experienced and they declined that offer. She has paid well over a third off her TV and cooker but they did take the kids Xbox 360 which she couldn't argue about as they were within their rights to do so. No big deal though as one of the neighbours gave the kid his old xbox so good riddance to Brighthouse but unfortunate for the next customer who will probably be paying for a new xbox 360 RECONDITIONED. It's not the first time these people have bullied children, I've read many a story about Brighthouse sending the heavy mob round, but best they know one day it's going to come crashing down on them because it's rackmanism at its best.
  4. I agree with everything you say Steven. When I experienced difficulty with them, I never ignored the debt but when it comes to taking it out on a 13 year old kid, I strongly dissaprove. No one knows his mothers circumstances but the child is innocent, it's not his debt or his problem for that matter. He was petrified. They thrust a Caversham Finance slip in to his hand and said give that to your Mum. They asked him if she had gone to the shop on foot or in a car. They asked him where she had gone and when he said the shop they laughed as though they didn't believe him. They asked if he had an Xbox 360 in his bedroom and that they were here to take it away. They then asked when she would be back and he said soon so they said right we'll wait here for her. She's a single parent so the kid had gotten in to a right state. It's unforgivable in my opinion. They should not be questioning innocent children, it's child abuse in eyes.
  5. Here here Julie. I'm through with them as well. What I find hard to believe is this. Brighthouse donate generously to a children's charity yet they send round their collectors to scare the cr*p out of kids? Very nice lot aren't they indeed!
  6. Berlioz they have done exactly the same thing to my friends son this morning! A neighbour witnessed it plus luckily it's all on CCTV. Seems the managing director of Brighthouse likes the Peter Rackman approach eh! The kid must have been frightened to death, the two bailiffs looked like they'd escaped from Wandsworth!
  7. Mike I get where you are coming from in a respect. However, does it give these idiots the rights to harass the customers children? Does the company you work for do that because the plastic gangsters belonging to Brighthouse turned up on my street today doing exactly that reducing a 13 year old boy to tears and waited for his mum in their A Team van to come back from the shop. Rackmanism if you ask me mate!
  8. I'd be up for it as well Dave! LOL Steven, it's a shame you weren't the journo for the Chorley Citizen on that piece!
  9. BrightHouse to light up Chorley (From Chorley Citizen) Top retailer BrightHouse is to open a new store in Chorley. The store, in New Market Street, is due to open next Saturday with a family fun day. The celebrations will include face painters, balloon modellers, stilt walkers and jugglers to entertain all BrightHouse customers. Ian Mercer, store manager, said: “We are very excited about joining the community in Chorley and welcome everyone to our store opening event on Saturday. "As a community retailer we pride ourselves in making a difference in the communities in which we do business. "When we open our doors next Saturday, we hope local people will pop in and say hello and we’ll be sure to remember your name next time you come in. That’s what makes us different.” The store, part of a national finance company, specialises in the sale of home electronic and domestic appliances, household furniture and other related products. It is known for its various payment options and offering credit plans to customers who "have never applied for credit before or have struggled to be accepted in the past," as stated on the company's website. _________________________________________________________ Poor old Chorley eh! :o
  10. Then as a Brighthouse employee who has joined the forum, may I ask how you would deal with a customer whose partner had taken his own life? Would you ring for a washing machine payment on the day of his funeral knowing full well it was the day of his funeral? and you were made fully aware of the customers circumstances? Are Brighthouse staff actually trained to deal with matters as such? And do Brighthouse staff courses offer training in compassion and empathy or do they revolve around the politics of agreements and how the yellow money works? I'm not being rude to you or trying to patronise you and I'm sure as you say, you do your job correctly etc, but issues like this are going on with the company you are employed by. If you read my post 'Dear Brighthouse' you will find that your company is actually inhumane darling.
  11. "we offer these goods to people who can also enjoy the lifestyle that they wouldn't normally be able to enjoy...." Please clarify that for me because the majority of customers I have come across are actually skipping a weekly shop, meals and other essentials in order to keep Brighthouse off their backs? I can only speak for the store I deal with and let me tell you, they will sell you practically anything without even checking peoples financial status or predicament.
  12. I think this is rather disturbing to say the least! Would it be the same people who reported your offensive pictures who send their staff round to peoples doors and intimidate individuals who may be in a spot of financial difficulty? Or could it be the same people who bombard individuals with phone calls ( even in traumatic circumstances) and demand payments or else? Offensive eh? That's rich coming from them!
  13. I forgot to mention also that every single company, including her gas, phone, water rates and electricity providers have been a tower of strength and are accepting reduced payments until her financial situation is back on track. There is also another HP company who has put her account on hold until the inquest is heard and they've been marvellous. In fact, they didn't hesitate.
