My daughter went on to complete a foundation course before University and was able to get help towards some of her costs from the Access to learning fund. If your son speaks to the college they should be able to advise him whether or not he would qualify. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/EducationAndLearning/UniversityAndHigherEducation/StudentFinance/Extrahelp/DG_171615 He could also look into getting a N.U.S. Extra Card. enamae

I may not know you, but I'll still miss your posts which I've always found to be informative and reassuring. Hopefully, once things have settled down and the "glitches" have been sorted out you may change your mind. If not best wishes for the future. enamae -

I've just checked their website which states:- "If you make your initial payment by cheque before 2pm it will be received at our processing centre the next working day. Later payments will be received at our processing centre the following working day. You can draw against it on the sixth Working day after it reaches our processing centre. You will start earning interest on the cheque from the second Working day after it arrives at our processing centre." The 21st July was a Wednesday so your cheque (if paid in before 2pm) would have been received at the processing centre on the Thursday. This would mean that the cheque would not have cleared until the following Friday(30th). If you paid it in after 2pm, it will not be cleared until Monday. enamae

You should be aware that even if your current account is not overdrawn, they may refuse to close it while you have still have payments outstanding on your loan. enamae

How much longer are we going to have to put up with these on the side of the Forums? The only thing that allowing these links to appear succeeds in doing, is giving the impression that they have the full approval of CAG. enamae
