  5. Well, ive just prepared my LBA. Ive worked out that the 14 days for the last letter ends on 15th April, so i thought if i sent it recorded on thursday, then they would get it 1st thing when they re-open after the bank holidays. Am really pleased to hear about the successes that are going on at the moment against the Halifax. Am getting really nervous now though. Ive looked into getting another bank account, but cant seem to find anyone that will let me open one. What would be the way to go if they decided to close my account after this?
  6. Hi, Thanks Mandy. I actually received a letter from them this morning, thanking me for my email & the rest was a complete cop-out. We're keen to deal with your concerns as quickly as possible. A customer relations manager will investigate the points you have rasied and you will receive a reply shortly, but certainly no later than 4 weeks. You will find enclosed a copy of our leaflet, which tells you how we will handle your complaint. Your concerns will be dealt with as quickly as possible, but to helo us deal more efficiently with your enquiry, please quote (Our ref) when writing or telephoning the number at the top of this letter. Yours sincerely Dawn Pugh Senior customer relations manager. Well, what do i do now? Do i just wait the 14 days & then send the 2nd letter to them? Thanks Polly x
  7. Hi all, Well on 1st April i sent my 1st request letter via email to the Halifax. I havent received any confirmations from them, or heard anything as yet. Does anyone know if they usually respond within the 14 days or try & make you sweat? Obviously im not expecting to have heard anything via snail mail from them yet, but i thought i mightve got an email response, be it automated or not. Thanks
  8. Hi, Im sorry to hear of your problems. Can i ask if any of you put the rent money aside when it was witheld in lieu of repairs? Im not sure about the laws in Scotland as i live & work in England. I know that where i work (A Local Council) we are the prosecuting authority against landlords. Maybe you could try the Shelter.org website, theyre really good for housing advice (As its all they do). Good Luck!!
  9. Hi, Ive had a look at the faqs and its probably me being dense but can anybody help with this? I get charge interest every month on my overdraft (usually between 50p & £3), can i claim this back with my charges or not? Thanks
  10. Right, i finally managed to work out the charges & in charges alone (without interest) i've totted up £2080. Woohoo, heres hoping they dont put up too much of a fight (I really need the money). Am going to check out the spreadsheet & see how i get on now. Ooh, am getting all nervous for some reason.
  11. Well, i finally got my statements through this morning. Am going to have a helluva time trying to understand them though. Halifax stated that there was a charge of £5, but that they had waived it. YAY. Will have a tot up & see what im worth
  12. I cant believe ive been directed to such a fantastic place! I was sent here by the money saving expert website. I believed like so many others that the banks were within their rights to charge me an extortionate £39 for failed DD's, etc. Ive just typed up my DPA letter & will be popping it in the post tomorrow. Cant wait! I'll let you know how it goes.
