  1. All of my debts have been sold to DCA and some of them keep changing hands quite frequently. Do i list on the application form the original creditor or the DCA who now owns the Debt. Theres one Debt about 4yrs old which i never hear from or know who owns it. All I have is new credit report which lists the original creditor. Thanks.
  2. You have nothing to fear, they threaten court action but do not follow through if the debt is only They might also make arrangements without your permission to call at the house, they are nothing more than sales representatives... also this is another scare tactic from them that they don't always carry out. Baliffs would only come if your Son was taken to court and instructed by the judge to do so. If you own your property they cannot take anything belonging to you.... they would be looking for things belonging to your son specifically. I would make sure your son owns very little outright and items like beds and clothing are fine.
  3. Stop paying immediately, have no further contact with them. If you want to work in the next 6yrs, or have any future inheritance like property, i would go bankrupt. In your situation you have them by the balls and theres not much they could achieve by taking you to court. Sure they can attempt to visit your whereabouts but they are not baliffs. If your friend owns the property then you would not affect their credit and if its rented who cares.
  4. It is possible but the DCA would have to be clever about it. They can contact your relatives anyway to try to find out your whereabouts without revealing the debt. Do not worry about Baliffs at your parents house because they would have to take you to court first and to do that they need to have better proof than that of your whereabouts.
  5. Lowell confirm that they received my CCA request, 2 months later it turns up. It says Captial One Credit Agreement at the top right and has my signature and date at the bottom. I'm not sure what my next course of action is. The debt is 5yrs old. Thanks.
  6. Hello, I've been battling depression for many months after losing my job last year, i was on JSA but signed off yesterday due to health problems... i found it difficult to leave the house and missed some signing days. I made a telephone claim for ESA today and applied but they said i will need a medical certificate asap. My Doctor is on holiday and the earliest he can see me is 18th May. Will my payment be delayed, they know i signed off JSA and have no other income. Andrew.
  7. Hi, I'm on JSA and i'm in alot of pain but still looking for work and signing on most of the time. I missed 2 signing dates this year and can't have anymore periods of sickness on JSA. The problem is i don't know if i have enough NI to go on Incapacity Benefit as i was a student and only did some part-time work. Anyway how does one go from JSA to IB and do they need a medical note from the doctor? Thank you.
  8. I ordered a chair from them which was delivered within 24hrs but there was damage inside the box. Been waiting 2 weeks now for the driver to pick it up, i'm in contact with viking everyday but i just keep getting fobbed off and told lies. I bought the item using my Egg Card and wanted to know if i can dispute this transaction and try to recover my money? Thanks.
  9. As i live in N. Ireland we do not sign at jobcentre plus but the DHSS. Btw i really like that idea... less stigmatic than going to the Dole office. I contacted them today and requested that form Sue said about... my signing day is Friday so hopefully it won't delay my payment too much. Hope i'm better soon to get back on the Job Hunt. Thanks again folks.
  10. I've been on JSA for 5 weeks and i've come down with the Flu. I'm due to sign on this coming week and need to know what to do if not well enough to sign on? thanks.
  11. Hi Everyone, Well its been almost a month now since i sent the letters. Only one company (MINT) managed to find the original credit agreement, it looks pretty legit (signature, interest rate, credit limit) and came with about 50 pages of statements. So i now send them a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request), where has the template gone? What do i do with the others now? I'm not really in a position to pay as i have no free cash at the moment, my income is similar to my outgoings. Should i try to push for closure on these accounts as i am not in a position to pay or make a small offer. I have friends and family willing to help. Many thanks.
  12. got some replies Buchananclark+wells - 'cease all action' placed on my account with immediate effect... they are asking OC to revert back to me within 28days. Credit Security Limited - In the Circumstances we will take no further action and have returned your account for our Clients attenion.
  13. hi, thanks for the replies everyone! i'm just a little confused on my next course of action. If they do find the CCA i then send a the S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) about getting the extra charges removed. If they don't find the agreement am i right to say its unenforcable and i do not make any offers? Also would it get passed back to the OC and i make an offer to them instead? thank you.
  14. Yes it was addressed to me and had that blue colour around the edges as if it was important so she opened it. It said something about someone calling at her house and she was very worried. She called the company up and gave them a good telling off without mentioning she knew me.
  15. I owe about £4k in total to 5 different credit cards. Its been going on about 9 months and alot of phones calls (which i ignore) and letters. A neighbour said there was someone in a flash car round asking about me and a letter managed to make its way to my sisters house in which i have never lived and she is married with a different surname! (that was embarrasing) I've just found out about the CCA letter so i've been busy typing up the letters. Heres who's been chasing Capital One - Lowells Halifax - iQuor (new name) Barclaycard - Credit Security Limited Mint - Fredrickson International Limited Royal Bank of Scotland - Buchananclark & Wells Along with some tame legal threats from Debt Solicitors coming off these debt agencies. Letters posted, i'll let you know how i get on. Feel a bit lighter now i'm dealing with it.
