  1. My daughter is autistic. In June she turns 16. I received paperwork, asking whether she is capable of taking care of her of her own affairs, or who will be her appointee. I informed them that I am looking after her claim as she is incapable and when she completes her education aged 19, we shall use a Power of Attorney to handle her affairs from there. On the claim, they can see she that is autistic and has a developmental disability, so any ideas why they are sending someone out to talk to me about whether she really needs someone to look after her financial affairs. I use her DLA to provide for things directly relating to her disability. I got this letter saying they are sending this person to see me. I am baffled. Has anyone else had this, or can explain to me why all of a sudden they dont trust me?
  2. Hi Everyone I felt I would like to share a letter that I wrote a few months ago with you all. I have been harassed for two years now over a debt that I paid. I wrote letters sent proof of payment each time it got moved on to the next dca. I just got fed up. So I did a little research and penned this beauty. The calls stopped, so did the mail and the default on the credit file disappeared virtually overnight. I reckon if they cant produce the CCA, then this type of letter should follow folks. Some of you may want to refer to some of the legislation I quoted - it worked a treat! Here it is...... The document is attached - enjoy.... I did get a reply from their CEO. I have his personal email id anyone wants it......... BCW.doc
  3. There is a very small amount they can (supposedly) legally take each month, They do this to my husband - something like £3 a week, so challenge them on this and mention it to your welfare rights officer. We currently have a money advice person investigating this because in theory they shouldnt touch DLA at all. Glad to see someone else has this problem. Will let you know as soon as we have an answer.
  4. The DCA is Redcar Recoveries, apparently their inhouse agency. they cover all the catalogues Littlewoods, Kays, Additions etc. It would give me great pleasure to take them to court, but would i gain anything?
  5. Hi there everyone WE could really use some advice on two issues. I paid up my catalogue to Kays Lifestyle (Part of the Littlewoods Group) in January. A week later I received a letter from them stating that I was £224 in arrears. I wrote back to them informimg them I had paid them and send a copy of my bank statement with all other transactions blacked out showing the transactions. They contacted me and told me that the statement wasnt valid because I had blacked out the other transactions (not the balances, date of statement or other details. I told them that my relationship with other vendors was between me and them and I have a right to Privacy. They continued to Harrass me. I eventually sent them a letter recorded delivery with the copies of the transactions. I was handed over to their debt recovery company who is now phoning several times a day and writing letters, ignoring my previous correspondence. They have started to send texts to my home phone number during the night. This makes my home phone ring and wakes the WHOLE family. I have a disability, as does my husband and my two daughters are autistic. the disruption this causes at two o clock in the morning means we are becoming sleep deprived, because the childrens routine is being disrupted. They have been kept off school because of this and it is causing behavioural problems with the kids. Our lives are a mess. My husband started receiving texts as well but his situation is different. His debts are being handled by a protection officer at our local authotities money help office (part of environmental services). She has written to all his creditors and advised them that they communicate directly through her and not contact him any further. They are ignoring her correspondence and continue to phone send statements and now send text messages. I kid you not these are arriving between 11.30p.m. and 3.00a.m. My mother lives abroad and is very ill, so switching the phone off overnight is not an option Any advice?
