  1. I'm returning to uni to finish my nursing course off and have taken a massive cut in NHS bursary. I have a degree from years ago and old mortgage style loans, which somehow went into arrears and got sold onto the wonderful Honours SLC. I am not entitled to a new student loan, because of this factor and wondered if I could take these people to court, appeal or anything on the grounds of lack of information, discrimination and losing of paperwork. I doubt if I stand a chance, but is there anyone who can help me? This could affect me doing my course and I find it unfair, as I deferred due to major illness and only have two years left. I am trying my best, any advice/help would be useful ty.
  2. I had a distressing text from someone called Mr. Marsden, supposedly representing a company called Mccall Repo. I've never heard of them and typing their name in Google only offered a couple of pages of info. This text has stressed me out and I'm already at the end of my tether. It appeared to be that they would try to take my parents' home, but they can't as I don't own it! I find it all very odd and a bit iffy, anybody had any dealings with them? I'm emailing my DM company to help me, but not sure what else I can do.
  3. These monkeys sent me a recorded delivery letter stating they were in the rights to phone me at work and to contact my parents (one of whom is ill) and claimed it wasn't harassment. They keep trying to take money from my debit card (I've changed banks) and seem to think they are justified plus I've sent them a token payment and will set up a repayment scheme through payplan. They are just bullies and have no right to harass people, especially if they are trying to sort themselves out. PDLs ought to be banned anyhow!
  4. I've sent this lot a token payment of £5.00 to start off with. I sent them several emails and now one letter begging them to freeze interest and to give me time to sort myself out. They've phoned me at home, mobile, (my parents too) and at work and now it is getting silly. I keep on getting texts, messages and emails saying that they haven't recieved anything, but I know since July, I've kept in touch plus I paid the last interest on my new debit card! My mother was in hospital in July and I defaulted due to losing my old card. got a new one and forewarned these clowns about this and what did they do? Ignored my emails and tried to take money from my old card. I eventually got the new one and they took money off of there, but they sent no apologies and they have been ignorant all the way through. These people obviously can't read otherwise they wouldn't cause unnecessary stress to people. I'd like to know what they would do, if they had illness or a loved one in hospital (serious illness mind not a small thing at all) and see how they feel getting harassed when they are still getting paid. They are *******s!
  5. I got myself into a real pickle with debts included payday loans. At the moment, I am barely paying anything save token payments, but don't know whether going bankrupt is the right move. I've tried dmps in the past, but they never seemed to repay any of these debts off and I'd probably be repaying my debts until I left this world. However I begin my Nurse training next year, (got unconditional offer), but I'm not sure if bankruptcy would affect my course and any future jobs included working abroad. I believe it may do, yet I am looking into all options prior to all this. I may do a DMP route again, but will have to reduce the payments whilst at uni and obviously would start paying more once I've graduated. Any advice would be most useful. I've already got some advice, but need to look into everything before I decide which path to take. Thanks.
  6. I've got horrendous problems with Payday loans. I was an idiot to take more than one out to repay another and they spiralled out of control mainly due to illness in the family (been a horrible year, mother admitted to hospital) then I lost my debit card and the troubles stemmed from there. I have other debts too, but am considering bankruptcy, however I would rather try to pay these payday loans off if I can. I changed banks and have sent token payments of £5.00 each and begged them to give me a bit of time to sort myself out. Yet nobody will help me and I'm worried sick, with the stress of starting my Nursing next year, I don't know if I can take much more! You try to do the right thing and you get nowhere. Do these people accept monthly repayment plans as I don't see why they can't, Any help would be much appreciated, ta! Plus one idiot did call me at work and got me really upset. Isn't that breaking the law?
