  1. Update! I picked my car up and asked if it had petrol replaced. The woman said 'We don't do that'. I explained the situation, that it wasn't my fault the car had to go to Blackpool, it was their fault which caused the problems and asked if they had spoken to a manager. The woman said no, but she had spoken to the Sales Man who sold me the car in the first place and he had said no. I asked her to speak to her manager, she said he was very busy. I asked for the address of where to complain, she said "Here". I asked her to write the address down, she gave me a business card. I will follow it up with a letter. Am I right in my pursuit? It's not my fault that the Fiat gear is in Blackpool. They had done a 60 mile round trip and the petrol tank was seriously depleted. Help!
  2. i suffered similar comments by a landlord, via text message. I showed them to the police and he was paid a visit to his place of business, questioned and given a fixed penalty notice of £60. I can't remember the specific name of the offence, but it was something about using a communications device to intimidate or cause offence. I know it vague, but it was 2 years ago. It caused him major ructions at work (he was the financial director of a company) and it hit him in the pocket and reputation.
  3. Dear All, My local Nissan Dealership in Chorley recently acquired a Fiat Dealership in Blackpool - 30 miles away. I bought my Fiat car through them (it was brought to Chorley for me to view/puchase) in July 2008. In August 2008 I discovered the spare key they had given me with the car doesn't actually work on my car. They are completely different when compared so it's quite obvious (if you check!) that it doesn't fit my car. I rang them and told them that the car being incorrect had caused major problems one day when I had left the spare with my parents so they could borrow my car to visit some relatives, and I went out for the day (wth the original key). The service desk weren't too bright and couldn't understand me, so I drove to the garage (2 minutes from my house) and showed them the key. They took it off me and said they'd get back to me, because they couldn't cut me a key in the Chorley branch. Chorley is Nissan, Blackpool has all the Fiat gear. They called me a week later and told me they'd need to take the car up to Blackpool to code the new key to the car as they couldn't find the TRUE Spare which should have been given to me when I bought the car. I took it in this morning to Chorley so they can take it up to Blackpool, and they have given me a courtesy car. I asked them if my petrol level will be the same when they return it to me and they said they don't normally do that. I told them the problem has been caused by them so I shouldn't have to incur a petrol cost. The service desk lady said she'd speak to her manager. I am due to pick the car up at 5pm today. I have a feeling they won't have put any petrol in it. I noted the mileage, the miles left on the electronic petrol gauge, and the MPG, Does anyone have any tips what I can say to them at the garage when I pick it up if it's not had petrol put in? Or should I just come home and write a letter of complaint? Thanks in advance.
  4. If they do impose a 'new' account on me, can I still go through the courts to claim my charges plus interest back?
  5. I successfully claimed £1,800 back from NatWest in charges between 2001 and 2007. However, since the Christmas spending periods i've bounced cheques and Direct Debits. £525of charges in just three months. I rang Natwest and said I wasn't happy, so they've condensed all my unauthorised overdrafts on my current and savings account, into an AUTHORISED overdraft, which will reduce by £90 a month for Six Months. This has made things easier, but I want to claim back the £525 in charges. However, when they returned my charges from previously in Feb 07 they wrote that should this happen again they may consider my banking facilities. Can I claim again for these charges incurred since October 07? Or will that totally annoy them into closing my accounts? I HAVE set up an account with TSB just in case.

  7. I took out a loan with HSBC in 2002 and managed to get myself in lots of arrears with my account/overdraft. The account is now with a DCA and I repay £10 a month. I would like to know if I can write to HSBC directly and ask them to send me my statements (accout now closed) for when it was open and try to claim any charges back. Do you think they will: a) acknowledge my letter considering its not with a DCA? b) send me statements even though the account is closed?
  8. Hi Guys, How do I get Welcome Finance to send me a copy of my original lona/credit agreement showing the PPI i believe I was mis-sold? Thanks!
  9. But having spoken to the 'new' owner this afternoon, he is adamant he is not liable. Should I refer this to my insurance company to handle? i don't know what next step to take if i do it on my own!
  10. Westcot also chased me for British Gas charges from when I moved out of a property in 2004! I've moved 6 times since (don't ask) but they finally tracked me down saying I owe over £100. They wouldn't give up, telephoned regularly so I sent them a copy of my rent agreement from the property I moved into after I'd moved out of the one they were chasing me for. They wrote back saying they would refer the case back to British Gas. Put it all in writing, it's the best way. And send things recorded delivery!
  11. Companies House only has one garage under that number registered, and it doesn't look like it's changed hands recently according to their website. i'm just annoyed if they're fobbing me off.
  12. Right, I bit the bullet and called the garage. The gentleman told me that he is the new owner, as of 2nd April. (My damage happened on 30th March). He said he took over on 2nd April and the previous owner has moved to Spain. I got the registered company number from him which is 4677858 and the date of incorporation is 25/02/2003. He says he is not liable for the damage but can recommend a cheap body repair shop. Are they having me on? What can i do?
  13. I've written a letter to the garage explaining most of the above and that i'd like them to pay for the damages. i've not heard back from them after 2 weeks of them having the letter (sent recorded). I'm terrified about ringing them! what can i do? send another letter? or bite the bullet?
  14. I thought CCJs and Defaults fell off your record after 6 years?
  15. Hi All, My boyfriend has worked for a Distribution Company as a Goods-In Supervisor since March 2006. He was promoted in June 2007 to fill his boss's shoes (to Goods-In Manager) which his boss recommended him for. In his Supervisor role he was working 8:30am to 5:00 (in line with his contract) fully aware that his boss (whose shoes he would later fill) was working all hours and mega stressed. When he was promoted he was thrilled to have been given the chance. The Interview was a mere formality, it was advertised internally, but he was the only applicant, and he was successful. After One Week in the new role of Manager, his boss pulled him to one side and said he wasn't putting the hours in, and needed to pull his weight more. My partner was a bit taken aback, considering he had a team of 2 working for him, when he was MEANT to have a team of 4 working for him, but agreed to put more hours in. So for three weeks he has been in at 7am every morning, sometimes working till 6pm and has worked one Saturday morning. On Tuesday 17th july (last week) one of my partner's friends died suddenly. He was completely heartbroken but continued working all the hours. He applied for annual leave for the funeral, it was authorised and he went yesterday to pay his respects. When he arrived in work this morning his boss has pulled him into a side room and told him he was sending him home for the day on full pay to 'reflect if he thinks he can actually do his job and how he's going to improve all the things he's currently not doing properly'. He was heartbroken and has been very upset and angry since this morning when this happened. Besides the obvious that a formal process is not being followed here, I've advised him to write down everything he feels he has done to benefit the company since being instated in the new role, how he has achieved targets when he has, and why he hasn't when he hasn't. (Two team members instead of four, etc). He has later rang his HR Dept at work to confirm he will be paid for today and the HR lady knew nothing of the discussion or his absence. Please can someone give me some advice on what he should do tomorrow? He doesn't want to go in gun's blazing to attack the processes they've obviously not followed to resolve this, but does not want to be out of work. He will be looking for another job depending on the outcome of tomorrow. Does anyone else agree that there should have been an HR member present at this meeting? and that there should be one present tomorrow when he has to meet his manager again to discuss the issue further? He feels that he's being set up to be pushed out on his ear.
