Hiya - can you tell me if you got a response at all? We've had 2 cars stolen from our drive and have been advised recovery charges are due - like you we have a high excess and aren't actually claiming for anything else. Its so frustrating to have to pay for beinga victim!!

I don't really understand the implications or how that affects CL Finance - I get totaly lost in all the jargon
-
Does anyone have experience specifically with CL Finance? They are now demanding 90% to settle and are reviewing my payments so I've got to complete a new budget form. They are adamant they never take less than 85% as a full and final settlement figure. I really want to be debt free - its so frustrating!

Thats good advice - i'll give it a try - many thanks

ok thanks - i hate having to play their games - I originally had debts of £45k and I've worked bloody hard at paying it all off but this last 3k has been awful - If I had it I'd pay the whole lot to be free of it but I only have upto £1,500 and as I say its really frustrating

I've spoken to Howard Cohen and CL Finance - both are adamant that they will only accept 85% and not a penny less - will calling at the end of the month really make that much difference? They are also quotingthe debts as much greater than the amounts that Payplan have listed - they say in the past they have only given estimated amounts and to go forward I have to write and ask for confirmed amounts via payplan - can they do that?
-
will do - thanks again Tom

if I have a debt of £1200 whaqt would be a reasonable offer - I don't want to borrow more from my Dad than I have to
-
that wouldn't be a fib lol thanks for the advice

Does anyone know if I can offer a full and final settlement amount on a debt which has a ccj? thanks
-
Thanks for the advice - I will make sure I keep photocopies of everything. My biggest frustration has not being able to get into my paypal account to find out what the problem is - I thought paypal opersted a no telephone customer service but have now found the number and will also call them. Thanks again for all you advice - I had begun to panic and you have helped me to relook at things more calmly. Vibrett

We've received a letter from Robinson, Way for a debt of £95 on behalf of Paypal. The Paypal account is frozen and they haven't replied to our email asking them to explain the £95 debt (we have no knowledge of having used Paypal to pay for an amount of £95 and have not received any emails or messages in the past to tell us there has been a problem). When we call Robinson Way they won't discsuss the details and say we have to pay or write with our dispute but I get the impression they are trying to fob us off. They want a payment in the meantime but I'm worried this means we are accepting liability for a debt thats not ours. If I write to them what should I say - I'll send it registered post but they are threatening court action and I really don't want a CCJ. Any help advice would be really appreciated. Many thanks

wow -lots to take in and thank you for all your responses against the odds I have got thru to payplan and I have now to send the claim to their legal department. They can not explain why the stopped paying this debt but can rectify it so I don't go to court - unfortunately it looks as if the charges stand but i will take the advice and find out if CL own the debt and if they say they own it will send a cca. Again thanks for all your advice - i can see how people lose the plot over debt - its been great having somewhere to turn.
