Default Letter From Council

HI GUYS,

I RECEIVED A LETTER THIS MORNING FROM OUR LOCAL COUNCIL SAYING THAT I OWED APRIL 08 AND MAY 08 COUNCIL TAX AND PAYMENT IN FULL TO BE MADE IN 7 DAYS OTHERWISE ACTION WILL BE TAKEN.

NOW, MY PROBLEM IS I DONT OWE THIS MONEY, I HAVE MY RECEIPTS TO SAY I HAVE PAID.

RUNG COUNCIL, NOT INTERESTED SAID SYSTEM SAYS I OWE MONEY AND THATS IT, I SAID I HAD RECEIPTS AND DID THEY WANT COPIES, THEY SAID NO COPIES ORIGINALS ONLY - AS I I AM GOING TO SEND THEM MY ORIGINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

SHOULD I JUST IGNORE THIS NOW, AND IF ANYONE KNOCKS ON DOOR SHOW THEM MY RECEIPTS.

ANY SUGGESTIONS OR SEND THEM COPIES ANYWAY BY REGISTERED POST?

Thank you for your reply.

I might have to send copies registered post though, as I have done my back in a present and cant get very far.

Do you think it is their new system they are using as they changed it this year, you do not get payment slips your main bill is bar coded and this is scanned at post office and receipt stapled to main bill?

I refuse to pay by direct debit and I pay all my bills via the post office.

Thanks again for your help

Hi Paul,

my son is going to do all the copies for me and post recorded delivery.

Hopefully that will be the end of it.

I have all originals so if they start....................

Thanks for your advice

If they insist on originals these can be taken to your local Neighbourhood Office (if your council has them) or photocopied at any jobcentre. They will then stamp them confirming they have seen the originals.
