Default Reduce Business Rates

My Rates went up this year and I've had two companies phone me and offer to help fight the increase in rates. I was told I could do this myself. I don't mind paying for a service but I wanted to know how I could check that they won't increase again!

Notice it says - help fight - it doesn't say - help reduce.

You can appeal the increase, but it doesn't mean it will be, that is why they don't say they can get you a reduction, you can do this yourself.

If your a small business, you can apply for the Small Business Rate Relief scheme.

Good read here:

Guide to Business Rates

There are also some good links in the site for info.
