Default Rjh v Lloyds Tsb * WON *

I've read with interest some of the threads regarding bank charges and have decided to chase Lloyds up about charges i've recieved over the past Six years.

I've never been happy (who has!) about the amount of money taken from me, especially when they have charged me, which has made me go over the agreed overdraft limit...and charged me again, when funds are due in hours to cover this!

So i take it the first step is to send a Data Protection Act letter to head office by recorded delivery, with a £10 cheque.

Do i have to send seperate letters(and moneys) for two accounts(i have a joint account as well)

Thanks.

Hello RJH and welcome

I sent two seperate letters with two seperate cheques in the same envelope. Anything we can do to prevent LlTSB from getting "confused" and delaying can only help.

If you don't receive a confirmation in a few days of sending it follow up with an email to confirm they have received the letters and refresh their memory of the timescale.

Good luck

I sent my Data Protection Act request to Penny Berryman and when I hadn't had an aknowledgement after a fortnight I sent an email to

penny.berryman@LloydsTSB. co.uk.

I'd send the email reminder to the same place as you sent the Data Protection Act letter to. You could always use the contactus address with the person you sent it to in the title or try firstname.lastname@lloyds tsb.co.uk

Yo can theoretically claimback the overdraft interest that has been charged on the illegal charges. This can be difficult to calculate so a lot of people seem to be leaving it off. They can then say in court that theyare allowing the bank to keep it as it will more than cover the true cost of bouncing a d/d sending you a letter

Got my statements through today and worked out i've been charged £775 in fees.

Just need help with the spreadsheet. How do you go about filling it in.

I've filled in the amounts and dates, but do i have to work out how many days have passed since each payment myself. Also how does it work out interest(not the 8%) but the other interest.

The spreadsheet in the library only works out the 8% interest that you can claim when you go to court.

IIRC vampiress is working on a spreadsheet to calc the overdraft interest, but AFAIK it is still in development/testing.

If you are about to send the preliminary letter to LlTSB you might want to consider asking for the overdraft interest charged on the unlawful charges without specifying a figure, let them calculate it if they want to settle, and then try to calculate it yourself for LBA or moneyclaim.

There might be a spreadsheet available when you get to that stage.

Personally I took mine to the local branch in person and asked them to sign a receipt.

you can post it to your branch or send it to head office, listed as a sticky at the top of the Lloyds forum.

If you're posting it I would use Recorded Delivery

Posting to my local branch tomorrow by recorded delivery.

Have they got to respond within 14 working days or normal days?
