Yes it is - in addition to the usual charges for returning cheques or direct debits.

Red face Re: O/D usage fee

Thanks John for the info!
I will now finalise my second letter then.
I am really upset the O/D interest fee are so difficult to include in the claim, as in my case they total another £1500!
but if i understand well, they are too many day by day calculation to make. Damn..!

Well you can claim interest on the charges, but the overdraft is borrowing and you have agreed to pay interest on borrowing, however if the overdraft is the result exclusively of the charges then you have a clear case for recovery.

Thank you Ataction for that, but again it seams to me quite difficult to make all the calculation, even though there are some ready spread sheets, for instance I don't know what was the interest rate applied, etc. etc,...I think I will leave it like this, at the end I have been supid leaving the bank playing that easily with me and the money I've worked for...I can't wait to get what i will ask for back, and then I will defiitly change of Account provider and make sure I don't get insuch situations anymore...

I am trying to calculate what I can claim back. I have over draft useage fees of between £5.00 and £10.00 every month. I understand I cannot claim bacvk the interest on overdraft usage but can I claim back the o/d usage fee from Lloyds TSB.

Question Re: O/D usage fee

Just Made A Big Mistake and being rather thick???

Have just sent prelim letter off but didn't include O/D Usage fees as thought I couldn't claim them.

Under "FAQ-Can I Claim" it says that you can claim for charges incurred for going over your agreed O/D limit which I understand would be an O/D Excess fee.

It also states that if you get charged i.e £10 a month for an overdraft on your account then you cannot claim this back as this is an agreed service and there is nothing unlawful about charging for a service provided. I thought this is what an Overdraft Usage fee was??.

Am totally confused now....what is an overdraft usage fee ? and if I can claim it do you think I should send another letter to them with a revised charges claim or have I already mucked things up enough. I would be claiming approx £300 extra.
