Default Claiming from Lloyds

Hello, I'm new here, and would appreciate your advice!

In August I wrote to Lloyds asking for £1060 in charges to be refunded. I received a letter back saying that they wouldn't and an address for the Financial Ombudsman. I wrote to the FO with all the details and since August I've had 3 letters from them saying they are very busy and haven't been able to allocate anyone to my case yet.

What I'd like to know is should I continue to wait for them, or can I re-apply following the links in the FAQ section?

Thanks guys. This will be my second claim, I got £150 from First Direct a while ago!

Vixen

Eek, just looking through the 2 standard letters I had back from them and I started my claim in June! Hadn't realised it was that far back.

Does it matter that in their 2nd letter they stated 'This is our final response', and then they refer me to the FO?

No, thats the usual now. I reckon Lloyds have them already sealed, just waiting for an address label to put on them.

Thanks for your reply 121o121. Am I right in thinking that I don't add the 8% interest at this stage?

Aha, so you could say I am lulling them into a false state of security!

Looking back over my statements, there have been times when I have been charged £120 in one day! Crazy!

Right, I'm going to get my LBA in the post tomorrow. It's quite scary. Have any of you done to 'gone to court' bit?

Hi Hellvixen .I will be filing my claim at court in 2 days ( just getting all my wording right on the form ) so i will let you know how it goes .

Regarding the interest - you dont claim the 8% interest until you file your claim with court .

I sent S.A.R back in july but delays cos Lloyds claimed to have lost 4 years of my statements which then were magically found again ! Now im sticking to the timetable by the day and have just worked out they will now owe me £500 in interest alone when i add the 8% ha ha .

From this point on i would say stick to the timetable and take encouragement from all the threads of people who are ahead of us in the process and who are showing the bank that we wont back down !!

I'm confused now.

I'm doing the LBA and it has a section for interest, but I thought I wasn't to mention anything about interest yet? Is the interest different for Overdraft Excess Fee's to other stuff?

hello and welcome..
yes the interest is added on when you use the spreadsheet to calculate your claim ready for submitting to court..
if you go in to the Lloyds bank section of threads and have a look at some of our cases you'll see time lines, when to do stuff and how..........
if you follow the time line, our threads and FAQ's........it will help you to make sense of it all.........
good luck x
