Default First Post - E-Mail or Snail Mail?

Hi Everyone,

First time poster here, I've spent this morning reading through some of the threads in here, and I'm inspired

I've just decided to finally do something about the excessive charges I have paid to LTSB, over £2000 in the last 6 years. I was up late last night browsing through my online bank statements, and compiled a spreadsheet detailing them, and adding interest at 8% etc. I have typed out a letter, and wondered if it will be effective emailing them, or am I more likely to get a response if I post it?

Thanks in advance,

Da2K!

Thanks, I will try the email approach first, from what I have seen on here, their usual response is pretty much standard, but I'm prepared to go all the way!

Hi Da2K, and welcome to the Lloyds forum!

Firstly, it is definately reccommended to use the letters in the templates library rather than your own. The templates are deliberately and specifically worded to cover bases that need to be covered if ever a case reached court, such as questions on the banks costs, and so on. As well as this, don't forget that they've been tried and tested hundreds of times over!

Also, you may know this already so apologies if you do, but the 8% does not get included untill you file a County Court claim and no mention of it should be made in your preliminary letter or letter before action.

With regards to E-mail vs Snail mail, either is fine, but personally I much prefur to send all my correspondance by first class recorded post.

Good luck with your claim, and remember to read up as much as you can on the FAQ'S, Step by step instructions, and other peoples threads (Reloads origional thread is a recommended read). Stand your ground, and don't be put off by Lloyds scare tactics!

Gary

Thanks GaryH, unfortunately I got a bit excitable earlier (before reading your reply) and used an example letter from Motley Fool, which was in turn taken from the CAG library templates, I think it was just streamlined down slightly, but it did mention the 8% interest. Will this harm my chances of winning?

No. But it does perhaps weaken your position from the banks point of view. In other words it might look to them like you don't know what your doing. Read the FAQ's and follow the step by step instructions from now on and you'll be fine.

Fair comment. They'd be right, I don't know what I'm doing. Lucky for me I've got this site to help me, the banks gonna get its ass kicked!

Thanks again!
