Default IF Play Nasty
Well, I won my claim against IF last week (see my other thread) this morning I have received a letter from If saying that on 27th Oct my I was over my overdraft limit by £0! & that they are charging me £28 for this!

SO thats bad enough, I go online & check my balance just to make sure nothing weird has gone wrong & they have taken away my overdraft facility, a strongly worded letter is on the way! Surely they have to notify me if they are taking away the overdraft?

How can they charge me for being £0 over my overdraft though? Its seems they have turned nasty, I opened a new Alliance & Leicester account a few months back, just in case, I think we will make the move now.

They have taken my overdraft facility away as well, i did get a letter to say with only 5 days notice that they were taking it away.

I'm currently waiting for my list of charges to arrive, before I start the process of claiming them back.

But my biggest fears have been realised reading your posts - taking away my overdraft would be a problem!

Carriel1975 - Glad to hear you won. Did you get an overdraft facility with your new Alliance & Leicester account?

I just hope I can open a new account and 'transfer' my overdraft to it.

Isuggest you open the new account and see if you can transfer overdraft before you start claiming. Then when your in for comes work out if your charges wil lbe enought to pay off overdraft.
If it is transferred elsewhere then fine.
If you will be claiming enough to pay it then again fine.
Otherwise you need to make the move and make arrangements to decrease the remaining balance on a regular basis.
