Default whitemouse75 v IF

I've decided to join in the fun and after finding this site today i have already sent off my data protection act letter for my if account which i closed about 2 weeks ago. dont think i'll have as much as some people on here, but i opened the account when if.com was launched (99/00?) and they hammered me for a while before i got fed up and went to first direct.

here's hoping for some money to ease the pain of my upcoming house move!

hmmm, just called if to see where my statements are, they said they know nothing about it. a 20 minute phone call revealed nothing other than they arent related to halifax (?) and as halifax cashed the cheque i should contact them and ask for the money back, then start again using the livingston address.

any contacts for halifax at trinity road?

I hope this is the right forum to be on. I sent my letter last week to IF requesting that they pay me back all charges incurred and they've tried to scare me off with a "no because they were in your T & Cs" letter.

I have just draughted my LBA and will post in a min.
Is this standard practice for all banks? I've got a bigger claim to put through on Abbey yet and i thought i'd start with this as it would be easier!! Also, recieved a letter today informing me of a new charge of £30 as there wasn't enough money in to cover my £36 DD - so they didn't pay it and have charged me. Should i call them and request refund right away or will it jeapordise my claim?

Any opinions grateful
L

I wrote to the Halifax some time ago to receive details of charges they said to get this information I have to pay £5 and they will send me copies of statements. Is this right? I begrudge giving them anymore of my money. At the time of writing to them I hadn't looked at this website so there is no mention of the Data Protection Act in my letter will this help or do I really have to give them more money to get it back from them?!

Paid my court fees at the beginning of this month to take IF to court. Was surprised to see that they wanted to file a defence. Didn't hear anything from them until today when i looked into my account a £635.11 cash has been paid in. Doesn't say who or where - but i think it could well be my charges, court fees & interest.
Will keep you informed.

reply to prelim received today, standard fob off from ms kerr-sloane. now then, how do you summon the patience to wait for the 14 days to be up, even though they've already replied?
