| Swift Insurance Was searching around one day and came across that comparison site (forgotten the name) that does insurance companies - probably insurancesupermarket.com or something.
Anyway, it turns out that Swift Cover were the cheapest for me by a long shot - cut my premium in half, which was nice.
Anyway, come to renewal time the broker I was with phoned and tried to talk me out of going with them stating that cheaper is usually worse etc...
About 8 months later I had a minor accident - bumped a chap at a dual carriageway entrance - cost, £800. IT WAS A TINY CRACK!!
Anyway, I phoned Swift and they said, "yep, we know about it already the other chaps insurance has been in touch, you don't need to do anything. Leave it all to us", and that was that. All done. My premium barely went up at the next renewal and the whole thing was dealt with fast and efficiently. I phoned the chap in the other car and he said it was sorted out really quickly and with a minimum of fuss at his end as well.
So all-in-all, well done Swift.
Every time I have had to phone them about something they have answered the phone quickly and have been polite and helpful, despite me trying to change my vehicle a little while ago on their website, but they didn't have the exact model.
Also, if you're like me and have documents all over the place and you need to find your insurance certificate, you can just log in to their website and print another off.
Suits me down to the ground.

| Re: Swift Insurance I am with Direct Line until Tuesday this week, I have been with them for 8 years.
I got my renewal last month and the cost had risen by almost £80, so I went onto a price comparison site and found a quote almost £200 cheaper thasn the renewal price with Swift. Almost the same policy, except with Swift, the price I got was with no Voluntary excess, unlike with DL where I had £250 voluntary excess. Called DL and they refused to match it, evebn accused me of telling lies when I mentioned the quote I had had, and then tried to excuse the increase in the price by claiming that I had made a claim in the past 12 months, which I have not, I have 8 years no claims with them, plus my no claims is protected so even if I had made a claim it should not have made a difference.
I have heard a lot of good things about Swift, and if they keep their prices low, and customer service levels high, I can see me being with them for quite a while.

| Re: Swift Insurance My experience with Swift has been the complete opposite. They are a bunch of idiots.
Took my car away and "lost" the contents of the glovebox - are they bothered? Not in the slightest.
They never reply to emails. They are rude on the phone. Their write-off offer was a joke and they "lost" my attempts at supplying evidence for my increased offer.
I would not advise anyone to go near these people no matter what the price. I'm going to the FSA about them | | | | | Re: Swift Insurance Ahhh yes Swift Insurance.
I have been with Swift since Feb 07 and haven't had the need to use them in their full capacity as yet (touch wood).
My experiance of them has been OK so far.
When I took out the Policy I got my certificate straight away online which is a great + as far as I can see but the post office did not like it very much and two out of three post offices turned me down for Tax on my new car when I took it in as it was off the net (not too sure why) but never mind.
I then moved house, now this is where I had problems. I moved from my house in a village with low crime to a village with even lower crime, came on to change my address and they wanted £30, hmmmmm I thought is this a fee?! I e-mailed them and they said because of crime stats etc. Now I've not fully looked into this before but I went on their website and said change address and moved next door and sure enough up comes a £30 charge again if I want to move. Now I can't believe crime has gone up in my street since I moved in lol, I don't have a record and its a very quiet village.
Although I haven't much to complain about with them I don't really know if I will use them next year as I feel they aren't fair and add hidden charges when you move etc.

| Re: Swift Insurance They are nearly all fine taking yourmoney. It's when you have to claim that matters. | | | | | Re: Swift Insurance I use Swift for my car insurance. I have not had any need to make any claim so I cannot say much about their claim handling.
I am very happy with what I am getting with my insurance so far.

| Re: worst experience Swift Insurance Im so drained with 7 months of trying to sort out a claim with Swift.
No exageration 100's of phone calls, emails, letters - virtually all unanswered.. My case handler hardly ever gets back to me.
Even though I was hit, Swift wanted me to agree to a 50:50 spilt. My premium went up and they havent responded to the other side, or me.
It really is appauling and its horrible being on the end of the line, waiting, being transfered and being let down.
I made the mistake of being 3rd party. they wont even write a letter on my behalf. I really hope other people dont have the experience Ive had. Im going to look into complaining to the ombudsman or something | | | | | Re: Swift Insurance SWIFT COVER ! exactly what it means.. fast at taking your money, but will never pay out. CHEAP but not chearful, my story is this, while driving my car past a golf coarse, a golf ball hit my screen , i was doing 40 at the time, legal for this road, went to club house with golfer and they said that they were fully insured and to contact my own insurance, SWIFT, i did this because the impact even though did not break the screen did make me bump up the curb causing damage to the wheel and it also did some damage to the wipers, i am fully comp with them and paid extra cover for their legal team and replacement car, this happened around 5/12/07. after contacting SWIFT, they told me to take my car to a garage they recommened and was told a car would be there to replace mine while they investigated the damage. on arrival to this garage, a man came out took a photo of the screen and one of the milage, i pointed out the noise coming from the wheel and was told it was a dry strut and is common, he also said that my insurance company would not pay for any damages as they are the worst arround for paying out. there was no car waiting and was told to go away and wait till SWIFT phone, but this never happened, after several phone calls and not getting a repliy, i phoned arround a few places and got several different numbers, all leading back to the same OFFICE. when i did manage to get them i asked for there leagal team as i was niffed of as it was two weeks on and did not no anything, they started stumbling on the phone and im quite sure they do not have a leagal team, as even today they cannot supply me with there phone number or get them to phone me, WHY ARE THEY CHARGING EXTRA FOR THIS SERVICE ???? any way after weeks of being totally blanked by these people i contacted the FSO and beleive me i got a phone call straight back from SWIFT, who put me in touch with there engeiner, he said my claim was fraudulant and that no work was going to be done, i do have the people as witness and took my car to three independant garages and all have said the damage to the wheel was broken ball joints and not dry struts, i have now had to pay for this to be fixed myself because i need my car for work, SWIFT now say because of this my claim is viod, i have tried to point out that the engineer told me that the claim was fraudulant in SWIFTS eyes and would not be doing any work on my car. I have asked for all evidence of why they say its fraudulant and proof of what damage in there eyes was wrong with my car, this has been done in voice and in writing, and also i need the tape recording of me and the engineer talking on the phone, it has been pointed out to them that its illegal to withold this, but still they will not send it.
i am as i sit here going to contact the F.S.O and let them deal with this issue and would erge everyone never to take out a policy with them, woe forbid if it was a big accident and someone was hurt.
I would also ask everyone who experiances bad times with this company to report them straight away to the F.S.O so that action may be taken against them, the more the numbers the more they listen.
Thank you for your time in reading this and hope we can get this company scrubed, sorry for all the spelling mistakes.

| Re: Swift Insurance i got mine sorted out eventually.
The claims department is actually a different company AFAIK - a company called Sims claims services. So I think it's important to find out exactly who you are speaking to at any point in time and who they are actually working for. Then complain to Sims and then to Swift about Sims. Also start the FSA procedure ASAP since it takes a while. Document everything since they will need it. (this is not aimed at dalepaul since he did all this already).
