Default Holiday Insurance Not Paying Up-help

Hi All,
Any Help Or Advice Much Appreciated An Behalf Of A Freind,
My Freinds Son Went On Holiday Abroad With His Mates And Had A Digital Camera Stolen From His Table In A Restraunt,
He Filed A Claim With The Rep And A Police Report From Local Station.
When He Returned Home Sent Off All Documents And A Recept For The Camera And New Memory Card.
Now,
The Problem Seems To Be That As He Was Bought The Camers A Present By His Mother That When He Sent The Recept Off It Was In His Mothers Name.
They Heve Refused To Recognise That This Was Covered Under Their Term And Conditions Exclusion Policy...they Have Quoted Me In Their Letter
quote

"luggage, clothing, persona l Effects, valubles and Other Articles Which Belong To you"

now Does This Seem Right Or Is A Present In Which You Own Not Your Because You Dont Have A Recept In Your Name????

can Any One Advise On A Approach With A Letter As They Could Realy Do With Their Money Back.
thanks In Advance
gary

You just need to make clear that the camera did belong to your friend as it was a gift.

Who purchased the camera is completely irrelevant.

DEAR SIR/MADAME
I HAVE RECEIVED YOUR RECENT LETTER DATED 13TH OCTOBER AND IAM VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH YOUR RESPONSE,

YOU HAVE IN YOUR POSSETION,
1 POLICE REPORT

1 CUSTOMER RELATIONS REPORT FROM MY HOLIDAY REP
1 RECEPT FROM MY PURCHASE OF THE CAMERA AND MEMORIE CARD.

NOW YOUR LETTER TO ME SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE TRYING TO FOB ME OFF AND YOUR ARE TRYING TO INVALIDE MY CLAIM AGAINST MY CAMERA
LET ME REMIND YOU THAT I PURCHASED THIS INSURANCE ON THE GOOD FAITH THAT IT WAS PRESENTED TO ME AND THAT I WOULD BE FULLY COVERED AND I HAVE FOLLOWED YOUR PROCEDURE CORRECTLY.

THE CAMERA IAM CLAIMING FOR WAS A PRESENT FROM MY MOTHER WHICH SHE PURCHASED FOR ME TOGETHER WITH THE MEMORIE CARD AND YOU CAN SEE FROM RECEPT,

YOUR PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THAT IF I OWN A CAMERA AND IT BELONGS TO ME THAT I HAVE TO HAVE A RECEPT WITH MY NAME ON IT-WRONG VERY WRONG.

THERE IS NO NEW EVIDECE TO MY CLAIM BUT FACT,
I NOW TRUST YOU WILL LOOK AT MY CLAIM IN THE CORRECT ASSEMENT AND LOOK FORWARD TO A SETTLEMENT OF MY CLAIM IN FULL

Get your mother to write a letter confirming that the camera was a present from her, and enclose it with your letter.

I suggest a thorough spellcheck as well.
