Just been speaking to my mother & father, (both nearly 80, one disabled), they had a burst pipe in the shower. They have never before claimed on the house insurance( Lloyds TSB). The first question she was asked about the claim.........

"Have you any previous convictions.....?"

First time adding a message so bear with me, I work for an insurance company and these questions are asked as standard every time you make a claim, they are questions asked when you take the policy out and if anything has changed they may affect your policy.

Which insurance company do you work for?

This question is asked to assess if an insurance company can cover you,as a lot of companys do not cover customers who have criminal convictions and convictions for fraud or dishonesty.

Cumbria, I'd be happy to provide some feedback to the relevant claims dept and senior management, if you'd like to email me some further details. I don't work in that particular area but can certainly arrange to have the call reviewed by a member of the audit team to identify any training needs and make sure it doesn't happen again.
