Default NatWest Advantage Gold Insurance Policies

Hey Guys...

Hasnt been a very good day for me... was moving my things from my partner (now ex partners) house into my car because I was taking my items away.

I foolishly put my 38" LCD TV (that is on finance) AND my brand new laptop that I bought last week into my boot.... locked the car.... came back upstairs to collect some more things..... had a cup of tea and was ready to leave.... came back to the car and the passenger side window had been smashed and some w**kers had stolen both the TV and my laptop from my car!!!!

The car is being fixed, but what concerns me the most is that the TV AND the laptop have now gone! Thats £1000 worth of goods gone.

If I claim through my car insurance, I am going to lose my no claims bonus which I have worked so hard for.... my partner then recommended that I check whether I am covered for anything in my NatWest Advantage Gold policies.

The Purchase Protection Policy comes to mind - it does state that the goods need to be paid for using the card - unfortunately the TV wasnt as it was on finance, however the laptop was paid for Part Cash, and Part Switch Card which is the one linked to the Advantage Gold Account....

Am I covered? If so, then would I be allowed to cover for all of it... if not, then does anyone know of anything that may be able to cover this....

Thanks guys!!

Almost certainly your motor insurance will NOT cover this, whilst there may be some limited cover for personal effects it wouldn't extend to this.

Your only hope is your contents insurance under goods temporarily removed from the premises, but it's a slim chance. Was the car on a public road or within the confines of your own property (ie a driveway)??

I don't see why Purchase Protection Policy would cover you in this instance though.
