Exclamation Sofa Insurance... i'm not covered??

It started last year after purchasing a sofa from the Land of Leather. Having also recently had two kittens the salesmen tried to sell me the insurance problem. He told me it covered 'everything' so i got him to go into more depth about pet damage as i knew the inevitable would happen, the cats would claw it.

He told me the insurance covered pet damage however i would only be able to make one claim in the 3 year cover.

I waited until the sofa was fully paid off (i had the 12 month interest free option) the insurance was an additional £160 which seemed to be worth it at the time as it covered everything!

I called the Insurance compnay up and got instantly through (to my suprise) and mentioned 3 area's i wanted to claim for.

1) Some paint approx 2mm x 4mm approx in size was on the 3-seater
2) a wear mark on the leather on the 2 seater
3) cat claws on the behind of the 2 seater and on the arm

I was shortly sent a letter saying i wasn't covered for wear and tear which disappointed me greatly as this was the biggest 'eye-sore' really.

Shortley after this an inspector game round he painted over the paint mark (badly) and took pictures of the claw marks and i was told he would be in touch.

I have since recieved a letter saying that i am not covered for pet damage as they do not believe this to be a one of instance?

Where do i stand in all this, i feel truly misled when i purchased the insurance policy has it appears to be so wolly i'm not covered for anything. Can i make a claim for my money back? what is the first action i should look to make.

Thanks in advance for your time reading and any potential response.

Hi I am having problems with extra insurance with land of leather as well. My insurance cost me 240.00 and the policy says only covers real leather, manufactory default and mechanical fault as its a recliner.

The sides of all the seat cusions have ripped down from the stiitching, the insurance company have all ready been out several times to replace bolts covered in the mechanical faults list but refuse to fix the seat saying these are not leather and if land of leather cant manufactor them correctly they are not going to pay for their mistakes.

Now where to go from here.

.pet damage is for a one off claim, not repeated cat clawing which you appear to be claiming for as its on 2 seperate areas. If you are not happy with the repair carried out to the paint mark then you should take it up with homeserve before slagging land of leather off in a public forum.
