Hello all.Four and a half years ago (2004) I was injured in an RTA whilst at work. The injury caused me to be off work for five months.I tried to claim on my PPI firstly by phone and then at my local Halifax branch (within 10 days of being injured)but was told by both that I was not eligable to claim because of the start date of the policy.I returned to work for 10 months but due to the nature of my job(involving heavy lifting) my condition had worsened and again I had to leave work (and sadly have been unable to work since and am now registered as disabled). This was in April 2005.Again I contacted Halifax Insurance (within a week of having to claim SSP)twice over the phone and twice at Branch each time requesting a claim form for the PPI.After being asked to explain the situation on each occasion I was told each time that this time I could not claim as my injury was now regarded as pre-existing.In May this year(200

,my solicitor whilst going through my papers asked why I had not claimed so I told her.She advised me to claim immediately. With the threat of my solicitors backing they have now paid out(if interested see my other thread on "who owns my debt")I continued to pay the premium about £30 per month until October 2005, this on a successful claim would have paid £300-£350 per month. As a result of not receiving it, I was evicted from my home of 6 years and had my car reposessed costing the £4200 I had already paid and a £4995 debt. Can I claim against Halifax for these loses because I was misinformed so many times, and have they admitted any liability by now paying out.Regards Goalie.
