Default morethan random charge?

Back in Feburary I had a lot of hassle with morethan when I tried to get car insurance with them. I bought insurance via the online site, a week or so after no documents I called them and was told they didnt know who I was (even though they had taken the money). They eventually tracked it down to a "computer issue" and suggested I set up a new policy and they would refund the failed one. I did this, and the same thing happend again. At this point I'd had enough, got my refund and left it at that. Then both policies arrived in the post, I phoned to make sure the policies were cancelled and they were. The next day a received letters saying it was cancelled. I thought that was the end of it.

Today (over 5 months after all the above) I recieved a letter demanding £53.18 as a first installment. This appears to be related to one of the cancelled policies (thankfully I kept a note of everything). But I've no idea how. I've tried calling morethan but as usual have got nowhere with the customer "service". I have to call back when accounts are open.

Anyone else had anything like this before? Why on earth would they be trying to charge me for a policy I dont have.

Hi Boris,

IMHO I have to say its time to start communicating in writing, stop telephoning you'll get nowhere, why are they asking for money? the answers simple they intend to frighten you into paying.

Expect more Letters, and threats, Its nice to see someone keeping all paperwork, I'd set up a new file keep all letters you receive and send in it.

Regards

Andy
