Hang on. You say the policy was started on th 4th and the pet had the op on the 12th. That's 8 days. Now when they say claim is made are you sure it doesnt mean a claim arising?

I would also suggest that when they say "no sign of illness" they are referring to the opinion of someone qualified to give that opinion. For an illness to come on like that there would have been some underlying or pre-existing condition.

I think we need to have more information before a proper response can be given.

I hope it all works out OK.

yeah I see that. I'm just wondering whatthe policy wording actually says. No expert on pet insurance, but I think wording like "no claim for a condition arising within the first 14 days" would be more suitable

I think the insurance company might have a point if the pet is being treated for a condition it was born with.

It depends if a vet had given it a check up and given it the all clear then it became ill then the company should pay out.

We really need to know what type of pet it is and what the condition is to be of any help I think.

If you claimed after the 14 days I cannot see any reason for the insurance not to pay out. If they refuse your claim then I would take it up with the ombudsman.
