advice following accident

hi, any advice would be appreciated.
i recently was in an accident where as i came out of a bend at the top of a hill ( not speeding ) and went into a skid colliding with another vehicle on the opposite side of the road. thankfully the other was okay, he was in a relatively new car with all safety equipment, i in old car and luckily only got severe bruising and leg injury.
the police officer who investigated has told me that there was something like diesel all over the road which possibly caused the slide but could not give a definite cause of accident.
i was also advised that the insurance companies would put claims into each other, however i was only insured tpft and so they will only deal with a claim against me and have nothing to do with my vehicle itself.
can anyone tell me what happens next.
also as i was taken to hospital immediately the police had my vehicle removed and will i be liable for the recovery charges and storage of myvehicle personally and do i need to arrange disposal of it. ( the policesaid it is a write off).
i am unsure as to what will happen as it seems that there was nobody actually at fault, it was just an accident and the police have said that there is no further investigation.

In short, you will be responsible for anything to do with your car, including fees for release etc.

your insurer will deal with the TP claim and more than likely pay out the TP repairs. your policy, as such, will be affected from renewal when a claim is registered against it.

Essentially, as far as you and your car are concerned, anything that happens is within your hands - or at least your responsibility.
