Default proof no claim discount bonus

hi guys i had problem with this company i did cancelled there policy 3 month ago coz i sold my car and i did spoke one of the costumer service and he say to me send back the certificate and i send back in same day
so in 20 of July a both a car and when i searched in chip insurance i find chip one so i spoke with a Kwik-Fit Insurance and i said to them i need my no claim discount bonus and what they said you have pay 403 pound for cancellation i spoke more than 20 times and they don't want to send may proof. so is there any one can help me or tell me what i must do
i have 7 years no claim discount when i joined with them and one year whit this company my first. any help appreciated.

The first thing you need to do is establish WHY they are asking you for £403 to cancel. That amount seems too high to be a cancellation charge so i would guess its either going to be:
1) The last 3 months payments which would indicate that the policy wasn't cancelled when you thought.
2) The rest of the years premium due to you making a fault claim during your period of cover.

Both are relativly straight forward to sort out. If its due to option 1, then all you need to do is send Kiwk-Fit a letter enclosing a sales receipt or some proof that the cover was no longer required as of XX Date. Once they have this, they should backdate the cancellation which would automatically wipe off any outstanding payments other that whatever you owe up until the date of cancellation.
As you haven't mentioned a claim, I'll assume that option 2 isn't needed, however, just for info, if you have made a claim, then you would need to pay the balance before they will release your proof of bonus.
