This included claims sent to solicitors to deal with. The company has been forced to re-think this policy recently following advices of the household insurance companies whose policies are sold with the legal expenses insurance as an add on and who are not satisfied with the service provided to their policy holders. If you have had a claim declined during the last six years you should contact your household insurer (Saga, Nationwide, NFU Mutual, Lloyds TSB, Halifax or whoever) and advise that you are unsatisfied with the service provided by DAS Legal Expenses and you want your claim reviewed or you will move your household policy elsewhere. Do not waste time on the FOS, many of the employees were formerly employed by insurance companies. You never know you may be surprised and you have nothing to lose. | I recall an article about DAS Legal Expenses in the national press last year which implied that the company was investigated following a whistleblowing complaint to the parent company. It stated that the Chief Executive has on more than one occasion had affairs with employees causing conflict of interest resulting in the employees resigning and being provided with a large payout which they used to start companies with much of the business being supplied by DAS.Apparently he then marries the former employee and his latest wife is his fifth. It is surprising that other insurance companies are still prepared to provide business for this company. |

Was this anything to do with the complaint about the Chief Executive? |
