Default Nettyg v Hsbc ***WON***

This is my first thread on here although i have been reading as much info as i can before claiming my charges of £4861 from HSBC. I'd like to thank you already for the information given in here as without it, i don't think i would have even tried to do this. Now with all the advice, i can't wait to get started.

So far, i have written asking HSBC for the last 6 years summary of charges and included my £10 fee - and to my total surprise they supplied all statements within one month and sent me my cheque back... probablyl just as well because that would have been another charge added to my account lol. So....

Next stage i'm about to ask them for my dosh back - let's see eh!!

Wish me luck - oh and congratulations and big well done to all those who have successfully snatched what's rightfully theirs lol.

Hi Nettyg

Just follow the procedures tried and tested here and you will be ok. It will take time though. A couple of months is not unusual.

Good luck

Default Netty's ready for battle!!

Hi all... well today the sleeves are rolled up and i've sent my letter requesting charges with my little schedule attached (recorded delivery of course).

I've told them i would like to their response within 14 days.. yeah i know xmas and new year and all that so out of the kindness of my heart - i may just let them off with an extra week.

I'll keep reading everyone's threads and keep my fingers crossed for all of you that are going through the final stages of a nervous breakdown with your claims lol.

I'll keep you informed too if i hear anything (yeah like i'm going to this side of 2006)!!

Like the banks ever give you extra time or stop charging interest at Christmas?

Just a bit of advise to keep everything in writing, photocopy all you send and if they ring you, tell them you do not conduct you business on the phone. That way you don't have to depend on memory.

NatWest are getting pretty swamped with requests and xmas post holds things up, so wht not wait a few extra days? Shows you are being reasonable even if they haven't. Things may cross in the post otherwise and get confusing.

I've got everything copied in blood trust me... i hear what ur saying but the more i think that the bank have had 28 years of my business and my hard earned cash.. they ain't givin me diddly so why should i? lol
I'll do everything by the book (maybe allow for xmas day and boxing day) but that's it!! I've had many a weekend ruined by not being able to speak my mind because of things that have dropped through my letterbox at the last minute and i've not been able to reply, when i'm sure that i would have said my piece better at the time these little bombs were dropped.

Where are you in the proceedings?

Hi. I am just doing the same with HSBC for my son. Nearly £4,000. I send my LBA yesterday by recorded so we are neck and neck. Will watch your progress with interest and let you know how mine is going. One interesting point is that soon after receiving the statements, we received a letter from Head Office ASKING for a list of the charges/dates/amounts so they could look into it and issue a refund!!!! Strange I thought! Anyway, I replied to the author with the schedule of charges giving 14 days. Best of luck.
