Bit of advise please

Hi there, have had my HSBC account for about 2ish years now, last year (im a student) I didn't handle the acc very well, I had a 400 overdraft limit and I went over it by 400 pounds, I do not think they charged me much for doing this, but am sure there are alot of other charges that happened before this that they owe me.

They handed my 800 debt over to a debt collection agency who I am now paying 50 pounds a month to, to pay off the debt.

Can I still claim while in this situation?

Yes you can. Just proceed in the normal way. When you have received your statements and send your prelim letter, send a seperate letter to the DCA advising them, the debt is now in dispute with thier client and therefore payemnts are suspended pending resolution. I had the same issue with Capital One and have now received a letter from the DCA advising they have now been dis-instructed by Capital 1. Hope this helps.
