Default My Experience with HSBC

Here's an update with where I stand with HSBC.

I went through all of my statements online a few weeks back, and made my initial request for full payments of the charges, which came to just under £950.

I received a letter back from Phil Beaumont very quickly (four or five days) saying that they would not be refunding a penny of the charges, and that is was their final correspondence on the matter. The letter included a process to go through if I wanted to contact the financial ombidsman. Seemed a stock letter.

I have replied, saying that if this is their final correspondence on the matter, I will be posting my claim to the county court in 14 days (April 14th), including interest and all my expenses etc.

I am currently putting a document together of previous cases, my terms and conditions on the account, today's recccommendations from the OFT etc etc.

I expect to be applying to the courts, as I don't think HSBC intend to budge.

Any advice/support anyone can offer regarding the process of going to court will be a big help. I will be using a lot of information from the libraries to help my case.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Cheers for now.

HSBC seem to have a wall of silence, as they have responded to me in much the same way.

Regarding court, I think the best advice is the document on 'Familiarisation' posted by BF. The idea that you can go and 'be an audience' in advance of your own case can certainly lead to a greater understanding should it end up in court.
