Default How I won without court :-)

HSBC (£700+ Charges):

-25-07-2006: Sent s.10 Data Protection Act by mail

-25-07-2006: Sent S.A.R.+£10 by mail

-03-08-2006: Called Collections confirm receipt of Data Protection Act s10, received & at Data
Protection Dept processing

-08-08-2006: Received no can do for the S.10 letter!

-11-08-2006: Statements from day 1 received.

-17-08-2006: Initial Approach sent

-19-08-2006: Response 'they believe the charges to be fair' - waiting for 31st to send LBA

-04-09-2006: LBA SENT

-18-09-2006: Phoned to warn that LBA was over and that it was last chance to comply with LBA before I take court action. I was then given the Complaints managers personal telephone number

-19-09-2006@ Complaints manager extinguished debt! WOOHOO! (Worked out to more than charges anyway rofl)
-----------------A letter is being sent to me which I have to sign and return, I will update this post with the contents of this letter.

Complaints Manager is Mr. Sat Singh (Telephone: 0121 455 2687)

LloydsTSB Settled. Charges £645, they closed my account, paid me up and left it there.

HSBC Settled. Charges £545, as good will they wrote off my entire £740.00 debt! SEE: (http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...tml#post254075)

They sent me a letter yesterday (which should arrive today ro tomowwor) which I need to sign and return. I'll put the contents of the letter in an edit in my original post.

Does anyone have an idea what this will state?

Also, I reckon that it would be a good idea to have a psot in the BAG general post with important phone numbers like the one I have above.

He didn't seem to like the idea of me even mentioning court, and instantly made this proposal

Funny thing was the actual charges were £545 (excl 8% APR), but he wrote off my entire debt as good will! w()()t
