Default What are my options?

I sent HSBC a prelim letter with the charges by FAX. And the deadline of 14 days has now been reached (it was faxed on the evening of the 1st).

Should I give them 1 more day considering the fax was sent in the evening?

Or what should I do now? I don't really want to take them to court - I thought this would have worked

The option is yours.

No amount of begging or pleading will get your money back.

Banks think they are above the law - if you are not prepared to go to court, then I'm afraid that you have little chance of getting your money back.

How do I take them to court?

It is your decision. They don't roll over and give up at the first letter. They hope that if they don't respond you'll give up and go away quietly.

You must make up your mind as to whether you want your money back or not. If you do follow your timetable and keep the pressure up.

Ok I definatly want my money back...I haven't gone on TV and made a fool out of myself for nothing!!

I rang them a few days ago and the lady on the phone said that they won't be refunding them and I could do what I liked. She also said charges are a "deterent"...which apparently you guys have been waiting to hear?

I've had the tape forwarded to my local branch for me to go listen to...

What would you advise me to do next?

Only do it if you want to - the choice is yours.

I personally would relish in it if a bank ever actually decided to take a case to court - for others it would be a daunting experience (although this is more to do with the TV depiction of court rooms than anything in reality ).

Dannster - PM me where you live and if you are close and it does come to court - I will take the day off of work and come with you.

Please can you post in the appropriate forum using a single thread. I am moving this thread and locking it.
It is becoming a bit of a nuisance.
