Re: National Express made me miss my plane! Step 1: If you have travel insurance, claim from them. They will have a section relating to flights missed due to circumstances outside your control. (they don't pay if you miss your flight from not leaving sufficient time to get to the airport, but this is obviously not the case)
Step 2: If you don't have travel insurance, then turn to National Express, it is their liability and responsability. In fact, I would go after them even if I had insurance for the refund of the exfess ont he travel insurance.
Write down all the timings now, how long you were stuck for, what time you were supposed to get to the airport, etc. Do that now while it's fresh in your memory, it's surprising how quickly this kind of memories fade. Obviously, keep all receipts etc.
