Fellow guests at thomsons We just stayed for a week in a Thomson Gold hotel in Spain (not cheap!). On arrival we estimate that the average age of the guests was 75 plus, mostly on cheap monthly packages. I have nothing against old people, pleased they are able to enjoy themselves, but I don't want to spend my holidays with them. Everything in the hotel - food, entertainment was geared up for them. I tried to get a move but it took from Sunday to Thursday to offer an alternative - then they wanted £50 admin fee! I refused, we were coming home on Saturday!
I am claiming a refund on the grounds that the holiday wasn't fit for purpose, as Thomsons knew the situation well but didn't warn us when we booked, then gave us lousy service when we tried to move. Has anyone experienced anything similar, and has anyone any opinions on our chances of success? I have written to Thomsons, but am prepared to go to arbitration if necessary. |
