incorrectly prited plane tickets

just a quickie!! came back from cyprus last month, got to the airport in cyprus at 12o clock to find out that the flight times had been printed wrong on our tickets and that the plane wasn't leaving until 815! decided to go back to hotel to sunbathe (cost of about £23.00 for taxi)

then went back to airport (again another £23.00) and when boarding the plane was handed a letter saying sorry for the delay, have £6.00 in complimentary refreshments, we figured this was on the plane......no it was in the airport! we were given the letter as we boarded the plane???

whilst on the plane we were told by the stewerdess that the flight time had never changed on her rosta (which she had 4 weeks before the beggining of the holiday) we received our tickets 2 weeks before we flew.

now. it says on the front of the tickets that times may be subject to change. but times changed before we got our tickets. what happened? are they trying to get out of something?

where do we stand?
i want my £46.00 back!

To be honest, they will probably just tell you that all flights are subject to schedule changes. If you had holiday insurance, there may be a cover included in that for delays, although there is normally a minimum time. I would complain to the holiday company though, even if you demand the extra money you spent. They have to acknowledge you within 28 days, then they have a further 28 days to 'sort' the probelm out (normally an apologetic leter), but if you are persistent, you may end up with a money off voucher for a future booking.

p.s i am a travel agent, (for my sins!) you can take the letter into your travel agent (if that's where you booked) or send it off yourself, either way, they have the 28 day time limit, make sure you keep copies of your complaint letters.

Your case is a bit strange since the airline say the flight was at the time it was always planned but the ticket issuer messed up and had you at the airport hours in advance.

Sounds like a common (and unfortunately legal) work-around classifying the flight as re-scheduled rather than delayed to avoid being subject to EU regulations...

been two weeks today since i sent them a letter (signed for) two weeks ago, giving them two weeks to reply.

what should i do next......
