Default Help needed with 2nd letter to Thomas Cook

Hi there,

I was looking for some advice from here. Myself and my family were taken ill whilst on holiday in Lykia World Turkey in May, we went to the on site docs 3 times and were given antibiotics, and my husband an anti-sickness injection. It ruined the 2nd week as we were confined to our room. I knew it wouldn't be the food, and had suspicions it was the Residence Pool, many people that were sat near us also fell ill. Anyway I told reception, and on the night we were being picked up my son who was 16 months old climbed off my knee down off the wicker chair, he let out an almighty scream. When we lifted up his t-shirt we saw a fair size cut in his belly. There was a nail sticking out of the wicker. I took this out and immediately approached the Head Of Guest Relations who was 5 feet away from us for some help. She was not bothered and the baby had stopped crying so no problem, she took the nail off me and said it would be investigated. Not happy I went to reception where I saw another member of staff who went to the Medical room and got some iodine and gauze. We had a horrendous trip home he was very upset and distressed and the lap belt caused discomfort on his cut. I told the rep on the coach about our illness and of the cut and she saw it. She knew that I also used to work for the company as it was a staff booking and promised that Health and Safety would be sent a report.

When we were home I took photos and sent in a polite but straight to the point letter to Legal Department. Whilst awaiting for a reply my 7 year old ended up in hospital with a broken leg, whilst in there he was complaining of severe stomach cramps and would scream when he needed to empty his bowels. Swaps and samples were taken. The very next day I had the Dept Of Environmental Health on my doorstep requesting info had we been on holdiay had we been ill, and would like samples from all the family. Apart from James they all came back negative, but was told it was probable we had had Lamlia Guardia. Again i called the legal dept at Thomas Cook and advised them, they sent me out a questionairre, and a diary of food and drinks consumed. Again I filled this in very well,as I know how thorough they would be.

I received a letter from Customer Services who basically called me a liar, told me all about Lamlia Guardia, (like I didn't know), I must have had it before going out there, then contradicted themself by saying we probably went out of the complex and got it from some other eating establishment, bearing in mind the food diary already said we were on full board and never ventured out of the complex. Also it could be contracted from animals, (obviously I snog my dogs then!), the cut on the baby was unfortunate but I was obviously making that up as well as the rep I had reported it too had found no nail, even though I told her, legal and in the letter I had removed it as not to cause another injury and given it to the Guest Relations woman. As a gesture of goodwill they would offer me £100, I was absolutey fuming. I worked for this company for 9 years before they merged and gave 110% to the company and the customer, and expected to be treated exactly the same. So they can shove their £100 the holiday was nearer £2600 and the second week was ruined, the baby has a faint scar and my son was so embarrassed having to have is bottom swabbed constantly whilst in traction.

So if anyone can help me put together a clever to the point next letter with advice I would really appreciate it.

Rant over putting the kids to bed now.

thanks
Carol
