Smile Airtours Question

Hello readers.....

Before i continue to correct my booking mistake, which is my fault admittedly :o.... Just wondered if anyone knew of a way of changing a name on a booking for free rather than pay the £30.00 for it, i booked for 4 people back in Jan 2008 to fly out in Oct, going through the paper-work tonight i noticed i had booked one travler under Becky NOT Rebecca.... any ideas welcomed but will pay the £30 if unbale to get done free, just thought i'd ask 1st

Kind regards Shywazz

As far as I know, there's no way in hell. Assuming you booked through a low-cost (ha! ) charter company, they make tons of money from this type of mistake, so you have no chance. If it is one of the scheduled big operators, you might be able to appeal to their better feelings, but otherwise, you're stuck, I'm afraid.

Yeah thought such might be the case Bookworm, no harm in asking before parting with the horrid charge fee.... well guess i'd better ring Airtours tomorrow, and pay up, quite laughable really as only paid the Grand plus for the holiday last week, good job i noticed now rather than at the airport eh...

Indeed. But you're quite right, ask anyway when you call them, you never know, you might get someone who just had a diamond ring for her birthday or someone on his last day there who might feel generous... You have nothing to lose by asking, that's for sure!!!

You might have a chance. I had a booking with Airtours a couple of years ago, when my wife was subsequently poorly and unable to fly.

I phoned Airtours to change the booking into the name of 2 friends, and they waived the name change fee out of sympathy. I guess it depends on who you get on the phone, and how much authority they have.

It can't hurt to ask, though.....

Hello.
After ringing airtours from monday to today i finally got through to someone that speaks and not automated hehehehehe
The name change has being done, and the guy didnt ask for any money, which is a gd sign, HOWEVER..............
Airtours have added 4 x £49.00 flight supplements to the invoice, which WAS fully paid weeks ago, now there say i owe them another £196.00 The holiday was booked back in Jan, the balance paid off, no other invoice read flight supplement fees, whats going on, i have told the guy i spoke to, i don't intend paying more money as far as i'm concerned i booked and paid for the holiday, them adding extras on now, is tough...

Any views, the guy is speaking to someone higher than himself then ringing me back...

Ok, so what was it? Just an "admin "error? (Funny how they always work against you, those admin errors, huh?)

Glad to hear it's sorted anyway.
