Default Worth Pursuing?

Hi All,
My first post I’m looking for a bit of advice regarding a minor complaint with my Thomas Cook holiday. Part of my 'Prestige Package' to Mexico included private transfers to and from the hotel, on my arrival I was advised by the airport rep that I was to be transferred by coach, he stated that he had no record of a private transfer. He advised that he couldn't alter this and I was to speak with my resort rep at the welcome meeting. To keep things short the resort rep wasn’t very interested and advised that the private transfers had been stopped two weeks prior to my arrival, and as such I would be getting transferred back to the airport by coach. The reason by the rep given for the removal of private transfers service was that it was becoming too popular and it was causing the hotel and Thomas Cook to much hassle to arrange the taxis. The rep stated that I should have been made aware of this change but it must have been to close to my travelling date to inform me.
I know this is a minor issue compared to some, but would I be right in saying that I should have been advised of this change prior to my departure. Would it be likely that I would be compensated for my
inconvenience, any advice on what if anything I should do next would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Monkee

I don't think this is a major change - and even if it was all still in place but YOUR taxi didn't turn up, at least they still got you to the hotel - even though you had to travel with the plebs.

I'd write, explaining how disappointed you were as you dislike coach travel, and that was the reason you selected that holiday. You'll probably get discount vouchers to cover the disappointment, which I think would be a reasonable compromise.

Hi, If Thomas Cook Prestige has the same T&C's as an Airtours Prestige Package (which I'm sure it will be) then I'm sure the Taxi transfer benefit only applies to short haul destinations (apparently it is considered better to get a coach in some long haul destinations!)
If this is the case then you should have been advised this at time of booking and you can base your complaint on not being told the correct information.

No doubt, within the price of the "prestige package" supplement you paid for the taxi transfer - if so you certainly should have this refunded.

There are various web sites that allow you to get quotes for taxi transfers - I would suggest that you price the transfer on one of those and send a LBA for a refund of this amount.
