Default BA Baggage delayed, Flight CNX, Compensation?

Hi All,

Unfortunately I had the opportunity to fly form Terminal 5 on the 1st day (27th March 0 to Paris on BA.

As you may all be aware there was major baggage processing issues and after checking in our bags the flight was cancelled and we were put on another one, then this one was also cancelled then we were put on a different air line from a different terminal the next day but no bags as they were stuck in Terminal 5.

I have spoke to various persons, telephone etc but to no help. We arrived in Paris with no baggage so had to buy clothes, toiletries etc for our stay for 5 days.

I have all receipts and wanted advise on how to go about claiming compensation and also would like advise on the amount of compensation that i should request for inconvenience, stress, bad experience etc.

Has any one successfully done this in the past and how much was received?

Many Thanks for your help.

T

Hi there Tila

I am not an expert on this, but here is a link to a handy guide prepared by The Guardian which outlines levels of compensation due to these problems at Terminal 5.

Q&A: Air passenger compensation | Money | guardian.co.uk

I hope this helps and sets you on the right path.

If not, there appears to be an appeals process on this link

http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=306

Keep copies of absolutely everything as BA were not as open to passengers about their rights as perhaps they should have been at the ouset.

Others might have further advice. I hope this helps.

Regards, Kenny

Have you looked at Flight Mole Forum - Powered by vBulletin where there are a number of threads dealing with compensation issues surrounding cancelled flights and delayed baggage involving the Terminal 5 opening.
