hi booked a thomson holiday too turkey in october last year for october 2006 wanted to chnage the date only when we booked the holiday the terms and conditions said it would be one charge of £30 tochange the date of holiday so when we went back in 2 days later too change the date too earlier in year in the same accommodation they said the charges had changed to £35 per person per change inluding the infant my son under 2 years who we only paid £30 to go on the holidayso the toatal charges would be £140. can they do this or are they supposed to notify me of any change in T&C`S after i have already booked a holiday. incidently we are still going in october 2006. are they allowed to change terms & conditions

They're allowed to change their terms and conditions, 'course they are; but I doubt very much that without notification they are allowed to apply them retrospectively. You signed up for the holiday on THESE terms and conditions; any changes subsequent to that would need your subsequent signature agreeing to them.

Your contract with them is set out in any documentation you signed at booking and the terms and conditions that were provided to you. You should very carefully read (a) anything with your signature on it relating to the holiday, and (b) the T&C's they gave you at the time; looking for anything which specifically states that they can change them. If you signed and agreed to that, it will be more difficult; however if there's nothing in there, you have a contract with them and they have to honour it.

We've just changed our holiday from August 2006 to August 2007 because we're buying a new house. Thomson charged us a total of £60 to change the date. That was for 3 people!!

Hi im new to this I would like to know where I stand with thomson, on the outward journey we were delayed by 1hr 40 mins with no explanation when we finally arrived in turkey & got our luggage back, our suitcase was damaged we tried to report this to our 'rep' but she didnt really want to know saying all you can do is fill out an incident form when she comes back to the hotel 2weeks later we still didnt see the 'rep', on our return journey again we were delayed for 1hr 40mins with again no explanation & yes you've guessed it the suitcase was again damaged further!!

For the original post, as far as I know, Thomson and all the other operators have always charged per person per change, I have never known t be different.

In some cases they may do it FOC or at a lower rate as a gesture of goodwill if the basic cost of the holiday is likely to increase! I am a travel agent and have been for 10+ yrs!

Even for my own holiday which we took in May. we had to change the date as it clashed with eldests exams (SATS) and had to fork out £140.00, incl our infant! I dont know where the terms and conditions were taken from when you booked. I have never known there be a one off charge like that before, I wish it were the case, it would make my job a lot easier!

For the 2nd post, its a long and drawn out complaints proceedure I'm afraid. You could also try and claim for your luggage on your travel insurance assuming you took some out! You can't claim for the delay, 1hr 40mins is only a minor delay, they wont even look at it unless it goes over 10 hours!
