Debts Passed On To Debt Collectors.

I got into trouble with a Marbles credit card and a Halifax credit card a couple of years ago. Due to their excessive charges and interest the debt almost doubled and not having the fantastic knowledge given in this site I eventually decided not to pay them anything until they agreed to stop their charges on my accounts. Eventually both parties passed the debts onto debt recovery agents and I EVENTUALLY came to what i consider to be unsatisfactory agreements to pay back both debts.

My main question is:

1. How would any respective claim be affected when the debt was passed onto a debt recovery agency and is now administered by them.

try to do a search on the forum, I know that you should write to the debt agency saying you are currently disputing the amounts owing, and then get the ball rolling on claiming back charges, direct with Marble
