Question ocharged v halifax ***SETTLED IN FULL***

Hello everyone, can anyone tell me after you have sent your first letter requesting details of how much you have paid in the last 6 years in charges, how long does it take for them to respond? And would it be quicker if I just took the letter in the bank? Please let me know.Thankyou.

hi if you hand deliver the letter it may be a few days quicker, they have 40 days to respond to the S.A.R - (Subject Access Request).

the best thing to do is to read the faq they will guide you through the whole process also read the threads in your bank forum.

They may send you the statements free of charge some banks ar edoing this. However you can also go into your branch or phone to allow them to take the money from your account.

hi check the Halifax thread, you must remember that bank treat each case differently within reason. You may get "paid" straight away or you may have to wait. It could be worth you hand delivering a new S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) and £10 to your branch, it will make the process quicker. Dont forget you can claim the £10 back!

Hi..

I just asked the person in a polite manner, and said my statements were online with the internet banking system, but only go back 2 years. She said she would send them out free of charge.Depends who answers really. Just be polite and ask how the weather is where they are.Takes them off the scent.Remember they are just doing what they are paid to do. I have no trouble when i call any of the card companies or bank.

Good luck
