Default a little EXTRA EXTRA help please.......

hi would be grateful to anyone here that can maybe guide me on my next step..... think I may have messed up !!
Very briefly my situation is, halifax owe me £3,200, I have had offer of goodwill this I refused telling them by letter that I WANT A REPLY within 7 days.

after a telephone call to them I was offered £2,500 this was yesterday they said that was the last offer, i made a very very clear point to advisor(this being someone named sarah) that i was now going ahead with court proceedings. I was told "that is ok and will be sending you details of our final offer to you" which she again stated £2,500.

I feel real uneasy at the moment about my claim, I will just mention also that i actually stated I would settle for £3,000, but still no joy!
Have I gone about it all the wrong way? Think I need reassuring, or maybe just some good advice.

thankful to anyone able to reply!

Don't worry, similar thing happened to me, phone call from the Halifax offering £500, I verbally refused as it was under a quarter of my claim. I received quite a snotty letter saying that the offer was final and they would defend any claim. I thought I'd messed up big time, but was advised to stick to the original time line and follow the steps. It worked, 3 days after acknowledging my claim the Halifax settled in full.

So, stick with your time line and follow all the steps, it's nervy I know but well worth it in the end.
