Pete Vs Halifax - claim started today

Hi all,

I joined up a while back and have had plenty of time to start proceedings, but because of work and other stuff I didnt. Anyway, over the last week I have been getting back into this bank charge reclaimation thing and have sent my statement request off today.

Heres hoping things all go well,

Ive been in a bit of debt problem but finally a remortgage cured that...now its time to hit `em where it hurts

If this claim is successful I`ll be having a crack at 3 other accounts (by the way...how are HSBC with this kinda stuff?) so fingers crossed eh!

I`m getting a little worried now as exactly one month has passed.

There is still no sign of statements so I need to prepare my next letter methinks.

One question, is this a straight 40 days or 40 working days that I need to wait?

Hi guys and gals,

Still no statements so I called the Halifax just now.

They have "lost" my letter and cheque buy they have kindly agreed to send a complete list of all charges over 6 years and refund my £10.

I should have the list by the end of the week.

Now what does concern me is that they are sending a list of CHARGES, not STATEMENTS...will this suffice?

I would make sure you get the statements. This is what you are entitled to after all and who's to say they wouldn't 'miss' a few off...? If you have requested the statements, that's what you should be receiving. All depends on how you worded the letter, I guess.

It was the exact template from the library...I`ll wait for the charge list and compare it to the years worth of statements I already have and see if there are any errors. If there are I`ll request full statements but if not I`ll not bother on the assumption the rest are fine.
