hiya
i am really amazed, gobsmacked even, by this...
my youngest son turned 18 recently and inherited a very substantial amount from his late grandfather...
he, on his fathers advice, we.re divorced, has invested it all with the halifax, today hes had a letter from them saying they wont give him a current account because his credit score isnt high enough, he certainly doesnt have any debt, hes 18, im spitting feathers, hes by far the wealthiest 18 yr old i know!!
im thinking of advising him to remove his money and bank elsewhere!!

Hi
I would move both his and any other family accounts and then tell customer services how much business this has cost them

Hi

The Haliprats might be doing your son a big favour. I took my mortgage out with Leeds Permenant Building Society. They gave me fantastic service and didn't have a blinked view point when you tried to explain that you were having cashflow problems. When the Halifax took over the Leeds Perm it was my biggest nightmare.

I have had problems with the Halifax ever since. They cannot communicate nor will they even response to reason.

From my experience with the bank, I'm sure that your lad can get an equal if not better deal at another Financial Institution, or even spread his risk among a portfolio of banks.

Welcome to the boards and best wishes
