Weird response to Subject Access Request A friend of mine has finally got round to claiming his charges back. He asked me how to go on so I told him to write and ask for hi sinfo under the Data Protection Act. Told him to put down his name and address and postcode.
He receved a letter from them saying
Thank you for your letter requesting specific information on your account with us. Unfortunately, we cannot process your request because we require more information on the account in question. If you could please provide more information such as
Sort Code
Account Number
Roll Number Active or Close (If closed, close date)
Now looking at the bottome of the Subject Access Request letter that he has sent, they have even wrote down the account number.
Now my understanding is it is a SUBJECT request, not an account request so it is obviously all the information on the subject, not neccessary about specific accounts.
Any advice ??
