I came on looking for people who had similar experiences with me with fraudulent credit card debits and had to register to be able to answer the mail. As I registered, I caught this thread and wanted to share my experience.
I gave up smoking in 1993. I write about my experience on my site www.theopenmindguide.com I think it's under 'articles'. It might be worth reading.
A colleague of mine found herself outraged as she started to research the tobacco market in her attempt to help people stop smoking. So she wrote a book too and recorded an audio. She said at the time, all she'd found was the Alan Carr book and didn't think it was very inspiring. I can't comment as I've never read it.
But to cut a long story short, I edited her book and produced an e book and posted it on my site. There is also a free downloadable 1 hour long's discussion on smoking on my site if anyone would like to listen to it.
I'm a little bit anxious about posting links through as I don't want to be banned from my first submission for trying to sell! I don't want to push things that don't help. I just want to support people who are trying to stop smoking.
I smoked for about 15 or 16 years and had given up about 4 times in that time. The longest was for 2 years. Why I ever went back onto it, I don't know! But when I eventually cracked it when I was 29 and have never smoked since.
Just keep trying. One day you will be sick of it. It's been 16 years since I stopped and I have never missed it for one day.
Best wishes

Haven't you done well. I have to admit I struggled for a time. There was to much uncertain about my job to relax (like weather I had one or not) How ever, that behind me now, and I am two weeks clear, still taking the Champix.
Hi Spritwoman, welcome to the Consumer Action Group and the our 'Stop Smoking Group here. My record is a lot like yours and I am fed up being trapped by the stuff, this time will be different. I hope your getting some answers to your questions on Credit Cards, if you need any help send Saintly or myself a link. I am looking forward to reading your story.

| | Site Team | Re: Lex stops smoking, yet again OK, I am doing what seems best. I am rowing, at home of course, the river is too big at the moment. I've got me bike, I'll give that a go, for a bit. In fact, what I need is a is a reason to keep it up, I am naturally a guy who earns his living outdoors. This past six months just wants you to give up, and that, I,am not going to do.
I hate my Ciggys, away with them !!!
