Personally, I always used to make an effort to smoke more, lol . But thats probably just because I'm the rebellious type.

I did give up when the smoking ban came into force in Scotland, which I think was 1st March 2006, and I'm sure they had a no smoking day that day, but it was more to do with me having to walk half a mile to get outside the hospital grounds where I worked than actual no smoking day. I think that quit lasted about oooooooo 5 days?

I'm in agreement here, I always used to do my damndest to smoke twice as many as I usually did because I refused to give up just because the health police (and my mother ) were telling me to In actual fact, in his most excellent book, the late, great Allan Carr (of EasyWay glory) also stated the same fact - the more you TELL a smoker to give up the more they will smoke. He was of the opinion National No Smoking day was a complete waste of time

I eventually gave up (nine months ago) because hubby's health problems -smoking related- became too severe too ignore, so we quit together. That was my own decision and as such I feel good about it!
